Robert needs one of those old fashioned Victorian nurses in starchy uniform to issue the following instruction.

Pull your self together 👨🏻 Are you a man or a 🐁 mouse?
Get a grip, I’m getting sick listening to your wimpy whinging.
Lindy has made a very ‘SPEEDY recovery.
Robert has turned into a very morbid character.

However, I think you're all being terribly beastly to poor, dear Robert 😗( please imagine that last sentence spoken in '50s style, a la Mrs Dale...)

    1. I am losing the plot..as to what day it is, and is there a TA episode to listen to tonight?

      Delete
    2. I still think that TA should be Mon-Fri. so leaving Sunday night out.
To me, this makes more sense, as we will then, have a Friday cliffhanger again.
This then will not be mentioned again, until Monday.
My thoughts only, and probably different 😁

    3. I bet I wasn't the only one who tuned in / logged on to listen tonight : )

Miriam, the cliffhanger would still change days - with only five episodes aired a week, 'Friday' is going to be a day later each week.

Actually, I quite like that idea - time seems to speed up by the year, taking an extra day to complete each week would slow things down nicely ; )

  8. I forgot and went to bed ready to tune in. Listened to the Now Show instead.
First mention of cricket from Tracey the other night. One good thing re corona when archers catch up ......no ruddy Sunday cricket match!!

  9. I remember those Carry on Doctor, Carry on Nurse films so well. The ‘hospital’ used in the films was actually Maidenhead Town Hall, near where we lived and I remember often seeing film units outside and parked along the road.
In fact most of the films produced at Pinewood studios were filmed in and around the Bucks and Berks local areas and I love looking out for familiar places in the old black & white comedy films when the6 come on TV

    1. There was nothing like a good "carry on....." happy days and we children always trying to work out the innuendo.

  10. I never watched or went to see any of those carry on films. Precisely because of the innuendo as Autumn Leaves mentions.
As a child I was taken along to all sorts of ' entertainment ' and have a very clear memory of seeing one comedian who was well known for sailing very close to the edge where smuttiness and innuendo was concerned.
I absolutely knew it was ' wrong', disliking it intensely whilst at the same time was puzzled by all the laughter, not understanding what was said, nor the response from the audience.
The memory and the strong emotion I felt has stayed with me throughout my life, and I still cannot abide smuttiness, ever.
The name of the comedian is on the tip of my tongue, but will not come to the fore.
So I will have to google it.

  11. I remember it as having been Max Wall, but think it more likely to have been Max Miller.
Perhaps they were on the same bill, or I was taken to two different shows.
Either way my father would have been keen on both of them.

    1. Could have been either Mrs P. I remember my Mum very much disapproving of Max Miller. I think he usually wore a white trilby type hat and very big kipper ties. I hated Max Wall. He was tall and lanky, wore a sort of black evening suit with very tight trousers and did a peculiar sort of walk with his bottom sticking out. Very strange man!

  12. The carry on films are very funny and crammed with the best comedians. I agree that there is no need for extremes in the smutty field. We always found Jethro, a Cornish comedian very funny on TV and radio but apparently his live theatre appearances were very near the mark. Unnecessary in view of his comic talent. I never found the carry on team offensive though. It was all just silliness and we all need a bit of that!!😊😂

  13. When I used to take the train up to Charing Cross station it went past an extremely large and long wall. Painted on the wall was the following slogan.

  15. Having googled both the above men, I can answer yes it was Max Wall who inspired John Cleese.
I always saw Max W as a short, in fact very short, man. But yes very skinny and slight and always in those strange black clothes which made him even creepier. They both had a visceral effect upon me.

  17. I enjoyed my visit to Ambridge this morning, listening to the shortened omnibus, with the seamless, nightly elisodes.
I felt for Freddie, at his locker, which is where he was, when things so changed.
I hope Freddie becomes a more central character, developes, and sees Russ for what he his...
I want him to become the next generation "Nigel". If he does, then Aunty Shula, will be one who has helped him, rather than Lizzie or Lily.

  21. For those confused.

Last week we were told in two separate episodes that Philip was going to be interviewed on Wednesday and Lynda was coming home on Thursday.
As we heard Philip tonight being interviewed, and Robert saying Lynda is coming home tomorrow, I guess that it was Wednesday in Ambridge we have just listened to and when we tune in tomorrow it will be Thursday!

  22. That’s right Spicy, we have missed three Fridays now so we are three days behind.

I felt Philip was trying too hard to be reasonable but it was difficult to know how it would sound if we didn’t know what we do. The way Blake reacted to Roy both before and after Roy told him he was not a police man would probably arouse suspicion, I hope.

It’s probably all going to change anyway when they cut out another episode and we have these monologues recorded at the actors homes.

  26. Philip's tale didn't seem to hang together to me - but then we have the advantage over Harrison of having evesdropped on the nasty duo.
I thought Harrison was beginning to pick up on the inconsistencies of Blake and the supplies getting to GG. Surely Gavin would have helped unload the van - to speed things up - and therefore spotted the petrol. Or was Blake supposed to have walked to the garage to pick up a can of the stuff? An easy enough thing to check; there can't be many garages in walking distance of GG.
If Philip has known Blake since he was a child, doesn't that suggest he'd know his family too? Perhaps Harrison will start asking why the poor lad's parents haven't been to visit him.
The other possibility is that Harrison goes to visit Blake and a medic happens to mention how ausiduously his 'uncle' visits him.
Go on, PC Burns, show us what you can do.

I just hope she's aligned the screen the right way for Lynda's Feng Sui.

As for Leone, Lynda would *not* have been amused.

    ReplyDelete
  28. I just hope that Harrison's suspicions are aroused even though Philip was trying to present as Mr. Smooth Guy with an answer for everything. Surely if Harrison visits Blake his cover will be blown somehow. Blake is a bag of nerves and will blurt something out.

    ReplyDelete
  29. Harrison’s reference to Blake’s school record was significant, I thought. It suggested to me that Harrison knew more than Philip knew he knew - and more than Philip himself knows. Harrison commented on the discrepancy between the two.

    ReplyDelete

    1. I noticed that too, maryellen, and also the way he kept going back to the supervision of Blake by Philip and Gavin. I'm sure he has his suspicions. Hope so anyway!

  30. I don’t understand why the police, and especially why Harrison, are investigating the explosion at Grey Gables.
This was a purely a construction site accident so shouldn’t it be the HSE doing the investigating, interviewing Moss about his staff’s training, supervision and safety equipment etc etc.?
There has been no suggestion that this was a terrorist attack or that there was any criminal intent, so why are the police involved?

Unless it’s just to give Harrison something to do as we haven’t heard from him for a while 🤔

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. Archerphile, definitely and opportunity for Harrison to prove his worth but the police have to establish there was no criminal intention, Blake using petrol as solvent is illegal. Philip's already had an initial phone call from the insurance company who must liaise with the HSE.

      Delete
  31. Harrison picked up on the discrepancy in Philip's story by listening to what he was saying, a boy with nice parents, as said not heard from so far, unsuited to school discipline but apparently conscientious in his work for Philip where according to him he found his vocation.

    ReplyDelete
  32. Perhaps the hospital has referred Blake to the police because they are suspicious. They are trained to pick up on suspected abuse.

  33. Listening to Phil the Build with Harrison, two words came to mind, oleaginous and obsequious. He delivered his responses in ‘what a caring. individual I am, rescuing such a wayward boy and giving him a trade, with all the paperwork to prove it? Then the, what a community spirited act I did in offering to help Oliver at GG. Also I wasn’t even there I was with my Fiancée elsewhere.
Was he over egging the Lemon Drizzle Cake and making Blake out to be competent to undertake the work? Alone?
Nothing to do with me Gov Burns I’m sure the Health and Safety Executive will find that I’m not responsible because I’ve got the paperwork to blame Blake.
I predict that it will turn out that Blake is illiterate.

  35. The two words that came to my mind when listening to Harrison interviewing Philip were professional and aware.I agree with Basia thar now is the time to rescue Harrison from the joke incompetent bobby image he has acquired on the blogs, as a result of being made the butt of the silly Jim Lloyd storyline , etc. Better luck with this one, Harrison!

    ReplyDelete
  36. Not much to add to add to the above, thoughtful comments. There was a coolness, a reserve, in Harrison's manner at the end of the interview ( recorded, under caution...), which wasn't there at the beginning. Pretty sure he smells a rat.

Freddie, for the first time ever, spoke with understanding & insight ! His depressing, & disturbing visit to Lynda taught him a few things - more than prison did.

Best laugh from Leonie, not only for comparing Lynda's window positioning to the women in Amsterdam's red light district, but the stoney silence in which it was received....

  38. The other thing that struck me about last evening’s episode was that once again an actor on the end of the phone did not give the person on the other end, chance to say anything before he replied
This time it was Robert who was the culprit.

    ReplyDelete
  39. Another slip up from Philip was his question: is that all? Harrison had told him that it was an initial interview and when Philip spoke to the insurance company he was cautious, telling Gavin that it was the first of many.

    ReplyDelete
  40. I listened carefully last night, and my impression aligns with some others on here today.
Harrison was thoughtful in his listening and cool in his questioning. My impression was that he was suspicious of what he was being told by Mr Moss.
Who in return was, as Basia said yesterday, very forward in giving as much information as possible, whilst leaving huge gaps which Harrison was able to discern.

There will be other interviews !

I'm sure there would have been investigations by the H&S Board, and by senior Police Officers in reality, but this is TA and I suspect any investigation by other professional bodies will be referred to in retrospect.

    ReplyDelete
  41. I actually, admired Freddie last night. At last, he is showing some maturity, and in a better way, than Pheobe.
The wonderful comments here, about Philip + Harrison - are just that- wonderful - and well thought out.

  46. Leonie should be sent back to wherever she came from toute suite!
    Dreadful histrionic girl.

And I’m afraid I heard a bit of the old Tracy last night - the bit I didn’t use to like on the cricket field. 1. I see it differently : Leonie is the catalyst in making Lynda realize how obnoxious she is being.

Of course, we understand why Lynda behaved like that, feeling completely disoriented &, worse, given her character,
out of control in her own home.

Of course, Leonie should have bitten her lip & put up with the cross outburst from Lynda, but she isn't renowned for sensitivity, & hasn't witnessed the weeks of pain & fear.

As it was, it all worked out very well for Lynda's recuperation, with Monty's welcome to complete the home coming !

      Delete
    2. Sorry Caroline, but for once I’m going to disagree with you, and that doesn’t happen very often!
I thought Leonie behaved as a rather obnoxious, jealous step-daughter. Not really too bothered about Lynda’s feelings but only annoyed that her Dad should have taken so much trouble to accommodate Lynda’s comfort, which was then rejected. I think she thought she was going to be praised for all her ‘help’ in getting the room ready and had her nose put out of joint by Lynda’s rejection of the arrangements. She, possibly unsurprisingly given some of her past behaviour, is very much on her Dad’s side and not very empathetic to Lynda’s feelings. And where has Corriander been during all this crisis, by the way?

      Delete
    3. Leonie is like Lynda, she said what she wanted to say and promptly left, so all's good.

    4. Leonie spoke of Robert's vigil at Lynda's hospital bed not just the bed at home.

      Delete
  47. Archerphile sadly I’m going to disagree with you. Of course Leoni is going to take her father’s side in all this, she was simply projecting his inability to remind Lynda of the sacrifices he made to be by her bedside. Given Lynda’s facial disfiguring appearance it not surprising she is also projecting her distress and in the only way she knows on Robert. That is with anger and accusations.
If anyone has the propensity to be histrionic it is Lynda especially when she gets a bee in her bonnet about something.

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. Sacrifice??
What else would you expect a loving husband to do, but be at his wife’s bedside during her incredibly painful and distressing stay in hospital?
What did Leonie think he was he sacrificing exactly?
A few days bird watching in the hide with Jim?
A pint in the Bull with his mates? Nice meals cooked for him by his wife?

No, of course Robert would be at Lynda’s bedside and I would think far less of him if he had not been there. I’m sure he didn’t see it as a sacrifice. Perhaps Leonie could have supported her father earlier if she thought he was making sacrifices.

As for Lynda, of course she is terribly conscious of her looks and current disabilities.
She is almost bound to be up and down in her moods. Angry and accusatory one minute and upset and apologetic the next. The poor woman has been through hell, her future life is not going to be what she expected. Robert is an easy target at the moment but I think he will understand her changing moods and make allowances

I just hope the two of them, together, without outside interference from others, are going to be able to get though this awful period in their lives and perhaps grow closer because of it.

    2. As I see it, Lynda is Robert’s life support machine, which she is more aware of than he is. So that’s why he said her very survival was all that mattered; so it is to him, but she has chafed at his lack of appreciation of what matters to her.

      Delete
    3. Very well put Maryellen. Perhaps the current circumstances will redress the balance between them just a little, if either of them will let it.

  49. The post I wrote yesterday about Leonies outburst didn't appear. I presume I didn't 'publish' - can't remember exactly what I said, but it was something to do with Lynda learning some humility.
The event itself has enabled Lynda to become a great deal more reflective.
Leonie saying her piece in defence of her father has given Lynda a greater opportunity to see her own behaviour in a different light.
Lynda herself previously always made a point of saying what she thought regardless of others feelings, believing her way the only way. For once, somebody else gave her a taste of her own medicine, and it did her good to hear it.
The fact that she is at a low ebb, understandably, and has been through a form of hell, has put Lynda in a position to be able to see the world from a different perspective and will I hope give her a greater sense of humility.
And perhaps also give a better balance to the relationship between her and Robert.

    ReplyDelete
  50. Archerphile 9.50 am - Agree with your comments 100%. If Leonie had an ounce of empathy or sensitivity she would have known that her gushing, over the top 'welcome' was not appropriate. She acted as if Lynda was coming home from holiday and should be so grateful at what had been done for her. If her Dad was so suffering and being sacrificial she should have been there earlier to support him. She needs to leave and stay away to let Robert and Lynda work out their newly altered relationship on their own.

    ReplyDelete
  51. I think Leonie did leave before Lynda's apology.

The two sisters have never before been known to have any degree of sensitivity towards others.
At the very least Leonie has turned up to support her dad at the last minute, and did help him get ready for his wife's return.

    1. ....in bringing poor Lynda up short. My main point ( 7.26 today) was that she caused Lynda to calm down, settle down, & realize that life had changed, that she was fortunate to have Robert. She has so much to contend with.

It was a well executed episode, everyone true to character, & the narrative moved on in a way that fitted.

      Delete
    2. I have to remind myself that before the explosion I found Lynda to be a pretentious, know it all snob, with her nose definitely up in the air. The actress does a brilliant job of portraying her with all her personality quirks, and the last few minutes highlighting her realisation that she was being unpleasant, was brilliantly acted.
In the real world she would be seen as a meddling interfering busybody and (in the real world) I would be empathetic given her awful experience, but it doesn’t mean I would perceive her to be a reformed character.
However TA is not the real world, it’s where we allow our imagination to craft differing scenarios to suit our interpretation of the narrative.
It provides us bloggers with a means of engaging in dialogue and to healthily agree to disagree.
Love 💕 and ☮️ to all.

    3. Oh yes. Totally agree with your last couple of paragraphs Stasia. Where would we be without such things to debate? TA gives us the opportunity of thinking and expressing views we might not have the opportunity to do in real life - especially at the moment.

  53. In fairness to Leonie.
She + Coriander, have never been very close to Linda.
She didn't see Linda in hospital, so yesterday would have been the first time, to see her.
She was probably "shocked" and didn't know how to re-act, but at least she hid this.

Linda, has had her dressings removed. She will have scar tissue and new skin, on her face, and will probably need more cosmetic surgery, in months + years, to come.

This would be upseting for any-one, seeing this, for the first time, even if Linda is much better + improving.

I remember, as a very young, final 6th form schoolgirl, I was allowed to "help out" in the dislensary. This was as I was going to study pharmacy. I was "warned" about a regular customer (a WWII RAF pilot who had severe facial burns + cosmetic surgery).
To this day, I still do not know, how I was so calm with him, as it was awful (but today's procedures are brilliant).

A chair in the shower, possibly. But I'm sure she said she was having a bath. I doubt she's got one of those clever baths with an opening door, she'd never have needed one before now. Did she practise baths as well as stairs before coming home?

  59. Well spotted OWIAS - and well thought through. Why haven't me, or Archerphile or others who've had lower limb surgery in recent times spotted this.
    It certainly passed me by.
Also she said she was putting her cream on.
    With her hands ?
Weren't they too burned, if so how is she able to use them.

My hands have not been burned but are very painful most of the time with arthritis. I have to cream much of my body nightly and it's extremely painful to use my hands to do so.
    Spiceycushion is probably far worse.

  60. If you were starving would you really make toast?
    Where was the jam/marg/marmalade/marmite?
From where did he get the bread ?
I still have an uneasy feeling that Freddie was somehow involved and it wasn’t really anything to do with Blake.

    1. Good point, but perhaps he wanted to warm himself up too.

There was noise from the kitchen - Lynda went to investigate. 'Though it sounded more like something being dragged around rather than a grill being lit.

I'd be very surprised to hear Freddie was up to nefarious deeds. (But then, I was in the pro-Philip camp so what do I know?)

  61. Gosh, I missed the bath thing too! And I still can’t get in and out of the bath 3 months after my knee op and just have to put up with a shower..
But we don’t know the extent of Lynda’s injuries, perhaps he legs weren’t too badly affected. Even so, it is difficult to believe she could undress and get in and out of a bath unaided so soon after the trauma.

  62. Quite a few bloggers have stated TA would be better if aired Mon - Fri & cancel Sunday’s episode.
I was thinking the same but now I wonder if it is because the last day of April is a Thursday and therefore the last episode in the can will air at that point and whatever the BBC decide to do will be actioned right at the start of a new month with a break of a few days to adjust our thinking.
Hoping it will still be an Archer related 12 mins 🤞🏼
Sounds a bit muddled but worryingly I know what I mean 🤣

    1. It’s OK, Lady R , I see what you are thinking and you could well be right. I’m sure the BBC will do their best to preserve as much of TA as they can - they know we are their most loyal customers!
I was very disappointed to read that another of our favourite programmes, Countdown on Channel 4 is likely to be suspended too. It’s our daily ritual to enjoy a cup of tea (with or without Gypsy Cream biscuit) whilst tackling the words and numbers game, to keep our brains functioning.

  64. I agree with LanJan that Freddie may have been more involved in the explosion than we know. Such heavy hints have been dropped - twice last night Roy and Oliver assured themselves that no one from Grey Gables at all responsible. We were told, or assumed, that Blake stole the bread, and I think it’s feasible he might want to toast it, but yes, OWiaS, did he then drop the grill pan in his haste to create the noise that Lynda went to investigate, saying They shouldn’t be doing that! ( if I remember correctly). It seems unlikely he was very adept with kitchen equipment if he had been living on the streets until given a home by Philip with food brought in daily.

On the other hand, the scriptwriters’ hints may all be red herrings!

    ReplyDelete
  65. I wondered a while back whether Freddie was involved with the explosion in some way. I think it is possible that he got the bread for Blake, there was some comment by Lynda about food being taken and Freddie denying it. His playing down his heroism and anxiety since the explosion suggests to me that he ought to have a chat with Harrison.

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. I imagine Harrison will want to talk to Lynda - did she see what Blake was doing in the split second before the explosion?

      Delete
    2. KP I'd forgotten that comment about food going AWOL. Was it the day of the explosion or earlier? If that day, it would make sense, Blake starving, saw food and took his chance.
I'm sure the noise from the kitchen was more dragging than something being dropped. But the episodes on now gone from catch-up so I can't relisten to check.

I don't think Freddie would have given Blake the bread. If he'd known Blake was that hungry he'd have asked questions. Then I think he'd have been up in arms and speaking to someone PDQ about the injustice of it all. But perhaps he *did* see him taking the food and decided not to tell. (Perhaps because the hair-tonic pill incident had shown him how easy it is to get the wrong idea about something.)

Who need Midsomer Murders and Morse when our very own Archers gives us so many clues and hints to mull over?

  66. What astute deductions concerning what Freddie was really doing just before the explosion !
However it happened, it seems unlikely we will find out, unlikely there will be arrests or any thing up of this story before the end of April.

Can we stand the stress of NOT KNOWING, along with all the real life stresses, I wonder 😙😗

  67. Last night Roy echoed my former observation, he said he was surprised to hear Freddie's voice when he thought he'd already gone. When Roy did the head count, Tracy told him she saw Freddie leave but he was back inside in the locker room where Lynda continued with her apology. As we said before, there may be nothing more to it than that.

  69. Well, friends, I suggested, ages back, that we didn’t know the whole story about Freddie and that there might be a reason he had been so very reluctant to accept praise for being a hero.

Everyone shot me down in flames and said that we had actually *heard* what happened in the kitchen, so how could things have been any different?

But now there are more revelations, it seems that perhaps people are coming around to my way of thinking after all. I shall feel very smug indeed if it revealed that Freddie has not been telling the whole truth about the explosion and its aftermath.
But also, I should very much like to be proved wrong because I’d prefer to think of Freddie as a hero than culpable in some way. 🤯 🤔

    ReplyDelete
  70. I am interested by all the speculation re grill/ toast/ bread/ Blake and Freddie.
I thought Freddie was with Lynda in the locker room.
There was definitely a clattering of metal sound from the kitchen that we heard along with Lynda, who did remark " they shouldn't be doing that". She then went to investigate the sound.

Returning to Lynda and the bath and the suggestion that she may not have damaged legs.
If so, why then does she have crutches ?
Crutches were specifically mentioned by Lynda herself, I think.

I too rather hope that we do not discover that Freddie was involved in some way.
On the other hand if it is found that Freddie had been helping Blake by stealing food for him that might mitigate other aspects of the situation.
However was this not the first day that Blake was on the premises ?
If so, how could Freddie have been involved so quickly.

    ReplyDelete
  71. It’s all a mystery!
I just hope we find out the truth, the whole truth and nothing but the truth before the end of April!

    ReplyDelete
  72. I too hope that Freddie is not involved in anything untoward. Maybe Blake had enough time to notice where the fridge was and just grabbed some bread and jam or whatever. Why he chose to toast it is the mystery as, surely if he was starving hungry, he'd just eat the bread without trying to toast it. I feel we will learn the whole truth eventually and it will be very interesting.

And now poor Big Bernard bunny,
you’ve ended up in Shula’s tummy.

  74. The big question now is will Shula buy a suitably impressive replacement? Waitrose had some huge Lindt bunnies, I was almost tempted to buy one for the garden to see how our marauding rabbit invaders would react, but I was deterred by the hefty price tag. Although I did pick up a chocolate teapot yesterday reduced to £4 from £16

    ReplyDelete
  75. My thoughts.
Freddie went back, to change his shoes in the staff-room. Linda went to sort the worker, now known as Blake, out, as was causing so much clatter and noise.
I would be very surprised, if Freddie, was involved in any way..
Linda was just in the wrong place, at the wrong time, and Freddie, was close by, to help her.
It surely is down to Blake, Philip + Gavin.
Blake making toast - why not - as Gavin sent him off to work, with no breakfast.
Toast is much nicer, than bread.
PS Where did the bread come from, as the kitchen was not in use, so I did he find it?

    ReplyDelete
  76. Well spotted, KPnuts ! ( the significantly reduced choc bunny I mean)
What still interests me, is the developing friendship between Shula & Kirsty, as if the SWs know they can't convince us that Helen will be an effective support when Philip is finally exposed but the reformed, re energised Shula, will.

Kills 2 birds with one stone : firstly, confirming the reformation of the dithering, inarticulate Shula of the past, into someone who can relate to Will's grief, develop meaningful relationships with both former husband & father in law, all unfolding realistically, I think. Secondly, this ensures that Kirsty will stay in Ambridge after her world crumbles because she has both Roy & Shula who will understand & be there for her.
( Hope that is not too convoluted for words...)

  77. I too, want Kirsty, to stay in Ambridge.

  78. I'm with Miriam on this.
Joy has been depicted in a negative way, but everyone has another side, and Joy could just as easily be the one to support Kirsty.
We know little of Joys past.
It might be that she has experienced something similar to what we expect Kirsty to go through soon.
Perhaps a husband gone to prison ?

It seems possible to me that the presentation of the garrulous and needy Joy is a front for a broken woman, or at the very least a woman who has been very hurt.

    1. My similar thoughts re Joy.
I have warmed to her, which is very different to my initial ideas.
She has a past, supposedly divorced, but what is with her daughter + grandkids.
They have been mentioned, but no real explanations,(to date) as to why two bedrooms, have the grandkids names on the doors.
Sadly with the time-scale, things will change dramatically.

      Delete
    2. The names are on the doors because Joy is still hoping they'll actually come and visit. When (if) they do, everything will be perfect for them, they'll be delighted, she'll be The Best Granny Ever, everything will be perfect, and all her heartbreak will be behind her. And pigs will fly ...

There again, perhaps her daughter is a key worker and the children will be dispatched to (currently) corona-free Ambridge so Mum can go to work without worrying about them getting sick.

  79. I have to say, it's perfectly obvious why Blake needed to make toast. If he'd just opened the fridge door to get butter and jam, there would have been no explosion and there would have been a big hole in the plot (instead of in GG). Simples ; )

She assumes that Oliver will want to give up Grey Gables and move back to Grange Farm.
    She is right.
    He will sell up.
    So
When Kirsty and Phil have to sell their house as of course they will ,Oliver will buy it and rent it out to Clarrie and Eddie.
Oliver will not want to live in Grange Farm by himself so he will partition it off like Betty and Mike did for Hayley and Roy.
That way Emma will be able to housekeep for Oliver ,,he will have company should he need it and still be independent.
More to the point ,Emma and Ed will be free of in laws.
